Change is good!

- Or is it?

Researcher and psychologists say that 96% – 98% of all of our actions are controlled by our habits! Conscious as well as unconscious habits. From the restaurant visits, clothing style, ways to react in different situations, etc.

It can be both good and less good.

If you have a lot of constructive habits all is good, but the truth is that a lot of people have acquired limiting beliefs, such as.

  • “I’m not good enough”
  • “If I show who I really am others won’t like me”
  • “I may not show my feelings to others”

Beliefs, we have been taught our childhood by parents, teachers etc.

If we try to change, there is a mechanism inside of us that will make us feel insecure and uncomfortable, and we often fall back to what is familiar and comfortable. No matter if, seen from the outside, it is deeply inappropriate.

Someone says we are afraid of failure, others argue that we often even have fear of success, but perhaps the truth is that we are afraid of the change in itself. And therefore we choose the good old, familiar patterns. We stay in our comfortzone.

So have patience and be forgiving with yourself if you are working to create change in your life! You can also choose to use powerful, positive affirmations to reprogram your mind, so that you can create some new habits of thought and action.

Thank you.

  1. Good Post Claus,

Especially about the limiting beliefs we sometimes put upon ourselves.

WE can relearn, and become better, in a short period of time with the proper direction and proper action taken.

    Claus,

Sadly, “People tend to remain the same until the pain of staying the same exceeds the pain of changing.”

As uncomfortable as life gets most people prefer the known, and fear the change as you say, because it is unknown.

    Keep them coming! :-D

  5. I have never seen changing as a negative thing, because you learn so much and can see things in a different perspective.

Hi Annette! thanks for your comment :-D
I totally agree with you, but we humans have a natural awareness for changes and things that we don’t know, and often it therefore seems unpleasant even if we see it as a “good” change. Of course some people are aware of this and it’s easier to make changes. But, most people will have to repeat new habits of thought and action until it will feel “natural”. And that takes the brain to create new pathways. It’s pure science.
