Is good enough good enough?

These days I’m working on a new Prosperity Affirmations Audio with a friend of mine, Laureen Falco.

It has been an amazing creative process.

I love working with professional people, and Laureen is one!

As a part of the process I’m working on a video to put on YouTube. I have made several versions and sent them to Laureen, and she has given feed back and then I adjust the video.

Two days ago I thought that now I had made the final version. But Laureen had three things that needed to be adjusted. I shortly had the thought: “Is it really necessary to edit it again? Isn’t it good enough?”

But as soon as I “heard” myself thinking the words “good enough” I knew that I had to edit it again!!

Because I don’t believe in “good enough is good enough”! To me good enough is NOT good enough!! I have learned that from years of work in the recording studio. Every time we said that something was good enough, we knew that it was time to take a break. Maybe one hour, maybe one day, and then come back.

I believe you should always go for “perfect”, or at least as good as possible. Of course for some people, who never finish anything because they are too perfectionistic, the good enough is good enough would work, but not to me!

Remember, every time you deliver something or publish something, it’s a visiting card. And the best recommendation you can get is doing your absolute best, always!!

Don’t bother that there are people that might think they could do it better that you, there certainly are such people.. But if you always go for the sublime, you will have the chance to improve your skills.

My Portable Empire

Three years ago I was forced to make changes and reconsider my life. All aspects of it.

I had a serious stress breakdown. Two heart failures in one night. There I was with a body that had turned 80 overnight, and lot’s of emotional challenges.
And – lots of time to think!

As a part of my recovering, I worked with affirmations, visualization etc. I saw and read The Secret, began to study books by Joe Vitale, John Assaraf and Jack Canfield. My curve was going rapidly upwards.

I soon made the decision that it was time for a change regarding my career. Through Joe Vitale, I heard about Pat O’Bryan, and bought his book: You Portable Empire. Immediately I ressonated with what he was writing. That was what I wanted to do for a living! I wanted to have my own Portable Empire.

Also I ressonated with his personal story. Being a musician myself, I was never financially broke, but as I was teaching music a lot, and never really liked it (actually I mostly hated it!) I was kind of emotionally broke!

At this point in my life I knew nothing about the technical side of creating webpages, opt-in forms or creating digital products like ebooks and audio products. Pdf, ftp, html etc. was Chinese to me! But I started to learn. Through my study of the Classical Guitar at the Academy of Music, I had taught myself to work very purposefully and determined, and while learning I met some really nice and helpful people on the internet. Some of them are my close friends today.

Parallel to this I educated myself as an online marketeer. A whole new world had opened to me!

I now run several web sites (designed by myself), I have created digital products, and I’m building My Portable Empire. And I love it!

Recently I joined Pat O’Bryan’s Portable Empire Coaching program. Because I wanted to learn from the best! As I studied the Classicall Guitar, I was used to have the best teachers. Teachers who could not just tell you how to, but also play how to for you. I wanted the same regarding online business. I wanted a teacher who was walking his talk, and Pat O’Bryan is.

I am creating products in two niches that have been a part of my “new life”: Audio programs for personal change and growth, and ebooks on subjects as Blogging, Online Marketing, Audio Production etc.. I’m dedicated to helping and inspiring others achive their dream lives.

I’m now a part of an online marketing “gang” with lots of talent, everybody helping eachother and everybody progressing with an incredible speed.

Exotic Christmas

Today is December 20, and Christmas Evening is just four days ahead. (In Denmark we celebrate Christmas the 24th in the evening). I have been thinking which Christmas has been my most special and exotic one.

And I have a clear winner!

Exactly ten years ago in December 1999 I was in Tanzania, Africa. As some of you might know I’m a passionate birdwatcher, and I have been to many places in the World to watch birds. This time I was in Africa as a volunteer working for Birdlife International.

Our “mission” was to estimate the population of one of the rarest birds in the World: The Uluguru Bushshrike. It only lives one single place on Earth: The rainforest of The Uluguru Mountains. This rainforest is seriously endangered because the local people are cutting it down to make space for agriculture. The small amount of forest left is protected.

If the forest dissappears, so does animals and birds like the Uluguru Bushshrike.

At first we stayed in the rainforest for three weeks. It was pretty tough, and very wet! And the stay included Christmas Evening.

We had some local African people to join and help us. December 24 in the morning one of them was heading for the nearest village to buy supplies. It was a long walk, and it wasn’t until we sat around the fire in the evening that we heard the sound of feet against the forest floor, and he was back.

He was bringing some sodas and a chocolate bar! We shared the chocolate and had our sodas while listening to a Danish Christmas Carol (Sweet World/Dejlig er Jorden) played from a walkman with loudspeakers. Around us were all the sounds from the rainforest, and the smell from the fire. We all had tears in our eyes, and sad for a moment without speaking each one of us thinking about our families back home in Denmark.

Do I need to say that the chocolate and the soda tasted REALLY good?

Snow, snow, snow…

Blogpost number 8 in Connie Ragen’ 30 Days Blog Challenge.

“Wow, snow!! ”

My daugters voice was exited this morning when she woke up and looked out of the window. There was snow every where! She couldn’t get outside quickly enough to play in the snow! I guess kids always love snow, but it made me think about how often my daughter, who is 7 has experienced snow..? Not many times!

I don’t know if it is because of Global warming, but it is a fact that the past ten years we rarely have had snow in Denmark during winther. Actually my daughter has only been out sledging once in her life.. We have had snow a couple of times but mostly it melts almost as soon as it hits the ground.

So today is a snow post! Today we are dreaming of a white christmas!
