Silent Night
This blog post is post number 5 in Connie Ragen’ 30 Days Blog Challenge.
Dear reader, I want to tell you that I really appreciate that you have taken your time to visit my blog and read this blog post. I want to wish you a Merry and blessed Christmas!
I have created a musical Christmas card with an instrumental version of Silent Night that I hope you will take the time to listen to.
Silent Night has always ment something very special to me. When I was quiet young I heard a version sung by Mahalia Jackson, and I burst into tears. I had the recording on a cassette tape, but unfortunately I have lost it, and haven’t been able to find exactly that same recording again. Later I heard Elvis Presley singing Silent Night, and that is a heavenly version as well.
In respect of these versions and the beautiful song, I have created this version:
Here are the lyrics to Silent Night:
Silent night, holy night
All is calm, all is bright
Round yon Virgin Mother and Child
Holy Infant so tender and mild
Sleep in heavenly peace Sleep in heavenly peace
Silent night, holy night!
Shepherds quake at the sight
Glories stream from heaven afar
Heavenly hosts sing Alleluia!
Christ, the Saviour is born
Christ, the Saviour is born
Silent night, holy night
Son of God, love’s pure light
Radiant beams from Thy holy face
With the dawn of redeeming grace
Jesus, Lord, at Thy birth
Jesus, Lord, at Thy birth

I love your Silent Night. I put it on my site. It’s just perfect!
I’m honored that you will bring it on your site!
Your version is also heavenly. I keep the link on my desk top so I can listen often.
Thank you for the Christmas card.
Sheila
My pleasure, Sheila!
